A clear statement of fashion blogger’s big influence over the industry, driven by their massive online and social media following, in some cases bigger than that of traditional media.

We bet we’re going to start seeing many more Cinemagraphs very soon. These captivating gifs are basically a still photo in which only one small part is moving, making it a mesmerizing and contemplative format, great for advertisers. They manage to capture a moment and make it quiet and elegant.

New Chanel short film, starring Pharrell and Cara Delevingne

One of the newest pieces of fashion branded content comes from luxury house Chanel, which this week presented thier short film Reincarnation in Salzburg, Austria, at the Hotel Schloss Leopoldskron.

The brand’s legendary designer Karl Lagerfeld has directed the film, starring Pharrell Williams and supermodel Cara Delevingne as a pair of waltzing and singing Austrian royals. It’s based on a true story. Read more

H&M has just released an interactive video introducing it’s Alexander Wang collaboration collection, which will be hitting stores November 6. The athletic, videogame-inspired ad features models Joan Smalls, Raquel Zimmermann, Isabeli Fontana and Natasha Poly; soccer player Andy Carroll; and kickboxer Rivaldino dos Santos.

Beautiful Beach Aerial Shots

Summer is officially over. In the spirit of not-letting-go, we want to share these beautiful aerial shots of New York’s and Miami’s beaches taken by Belgian photographer Antoine Rose.

They are part of his “Up in the Air” series, which Antoine shoots while strapped from the outside of a helicopter. Shot from a bird’s eye view, people and umbrellas are miniaturized and abstracted, becoming a graphically interesting study in minimalism and sociology.

Meet the Apple Watch


We can finally lay months of rumors and speculation to rest. Apple launched its Smart Watch today, the Apple Watch. Its price starts at $349 and it will be available at Apple stores early next year.

Instagram Introduces Hyperlapse

Instagram lanched Hyperlapse in the iOS store earlier this week, an app which lets users easily turns videos into high quality time-lapses.

“Traditionally, time lapse videos depend on holding your phone or camera still while you film,” said Instagram in a blog post. “Hyperlapse from Instagram features built-in stabilization technology that lets you create moving, handheld time lapses that result in a cinematic look, quality and feel – a feat that has previously only been possible with expensive equipment.”

We’ve all used the Bic crystal ball point pen. It’s simple, inexpensive and effective. More that 100,000 million have been produced since its creation in the 1950’s – it’s considered the world’s most Universal Pen.

Airbnb’s rebranding


Airbnb is a peer to peer marketplace for short-term home rentals. It does much more than sell “spaces” though; it creates a community and gives its members a proud sense of belonging.

Last week Airbnb revealed its new brand identity. Their new logo, named the “bélo”, has been designed with the idea that anyone can easily draw and recognize it and, as explained in the video below, stands for four things: people, places, love and Airbnb.

#CastMeMarc – Marc Jacobs Casts Models Through Instagram

Marc by Marc Jacobs‘ fall 2014 ad campaign has been one of the most anticipated ones.

Not only is it Katie Hillier and Luella Bartley’s first collection as newly appointed creative directors, the campaign also stars models casted through social media.

The brand asked its followers to tag their best modelling look during the month of April with the #CastMeMarc hashtag, gathering more than 70,000 submissions through Instagram.

“It seemed like a great idea to me, as casting through Instagram seemed cool, current and strong. We wanted the ads to shout with youth and energy… to be fresh.” Marc Jacobs, Women’s Wear Daily

Brands on Vine

Six seconds are enough to create fun and addictive content on Vine, in the form of short looping videos which are able to drive brand engagement and buzz upwards.

The mobile app, very simple and easy to use, was launched in January 2013 and acquired by Twitter. Brands are increasingly using this stop-motion clip creator, it currently averages more than 40 million active users and has already been used to film a TV ad (Dunkin Dounuts) and by NASA astronauts recording from space!

How to open 10,000 stores in one day

French fashion retailer Comptoir des Cotonniers opened 10,000 stores yesterday.

In bus stops, print adverts, billboards and café tables! They turned all of these supports into points of purchase by using the retail app PowaTag, making it ever so simple to buy with one-click and have the items delivered to the customer’s door 48 hours later.

We like Barcelona. Clearly we’re not the only ones: above is an infograph that illustrates how Barcelona is the 3rd most photographed city in the world!

The image comes from Sightsmap, a heatmap released by Google which highlights the most photographed locations on Earth. Data comes from geo-located images uploaded by users to Google’s photo sharing website Panoramio.
